Lung problems due to increasing pollution, poor lifestyle and smoking have already increased considerably. At that time, the problems related to the lungs in the cold increase further. There are three main reasons for this. First, a sharp drop in temperature causes the respiratory tracts to shrink, causing difficulty in breathing. Second, cold and dry air damages the lungs. It is the function of the lungs to excrete carbon dioxide from the body and change its pH by increasing or decreasing its amount. Also, they filter out small clots that form in the veins. Chemicals found in the blood also convert angiotensin. These chemicals help in controlling blood pressure. Some of the diseases related to the lungs are as follows-

Asthma: Swelling drains swell, causing them to shrink and trouble to breathe. If it is not controlled in time, the lungs become inflamed and they swell. This increases the risk of an asthma attack.

Bronchitis: Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial tubes. There are two types of bronchitis - acute and chronic. Cold and flu viruses cause bronchitis, but sometimes it is also caused by bacteria.

Lung Cancer: In this, there is an uncontrolled growth of cells in one or both lungs. Usually, this cancer occurs in the cells that make up the inner lining of the airways. These cells divide very rapidly and form tumors. According to the World Health Organization, 76 million people worldwide die of lung cancer every year, which is 13% of the total deaths.

Pneumonia: It is a lung infection that can be caused by bacteria or fungus. Pneumonia is more common to men than women because the estrogen in women provides protection from this fungus. Also, pneumonia can be caused by exposure to toxic substances and drugs.

Pulmonary Edema: Pulmonary edema is a condition caused by excessive fluid filling in the lungs, causing problems with breathing. These fluids are filled in various air sacs of the lungs. The main reason for this is heart problems. This sudden pulmonary edema is an emergency. It can be fatal if not treated in time.

TB: Tuberculosis is a serious bacterial infection that mainly affects the lungs. It is caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The transmission of TB is by air from an infected person. It can be cured with medicines. But as this bacterium is highly potent, it may take 6-9 months to completely destroy it.

3- Lam lung disease(lymphangioleiomyomatosis)


This is a rare lung disease that is more common in young women. In this disease, the muscle cells that make up the inner lining of lungs, respiratory tract and blood vessels begin to grow abnormally. These cells also spread to areas of the lungs where they should not be. Air sacs present in the lungs also swell and form small pockets called cysts. These cysts spread throughout the lungs, causing difficulty in breathing.

Some diseases such as COPD and pneumonia, which cause problems with breathing, can also cause respiratory failure. Also, stroke, spinal cord injury, damaged tissues and ribs around the lungs, drug and alcohol overdose and suffocation due to smoke and toxic gas can cause respiratory failure. Oxygen therapy and other treatments are done to save the victim's life.

7- Do this work for good lung health   

➤ Do not smoke directly or indirectly.
➤ Use nutritional and balanced food. Eat more antioxidant-rich foods such as broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage. This reduces the risk of lung cancer by up to 50%. A research conducted in Britain has revealed that people who consume tomatoes three times a week, their lung function improves.
➤ Avoid pollution, use a scarf or mask if you get out of the house. Air purification systems can also be installed. Avoid contact with pet fur. Do not always keep windows and doors closed. Let fresh air come in.
➤ Do not let the body lack water. The innermost layer of the lungs, called the mucosal lining, is extremely thin. To keep it healthy, drink 6-8 glasses of water daily and also consume other fluids.
➤ Laugh openly. Laughing is a good exercise to increase lung capacity. This also cleanses the lungs.
