1- Rabindranath Tagore: (Literature)

Rabindranath Tagore was the first Indian to receive the Nobel Prize in 1913. He was awarded this award for his contribution in the field of literature. He was also the first Asian to receive this honor. He was the first non-European to receive this award.

2- Chandrasekhar Venkataraman: (Physics)

Chandrashekhar Venkataraman (CV Raman) received this honor in the field of Physics in 1930. When light passes through a transparent medium, then its wavelength (wavelength) changes. This is known as the Raman Effect, for which it was awarded the Nobel Prize.

3- Mother Teresa: (Peace)

Indian Mother Teresa of Albania origin received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. He founded the Mission of Kolkata in 1950. He voluntarily took Indian citizenship in 1948.

4- Amartya Sen: (Economics)

6- Hargovind Khurana: (Medicine)

Indian-origin scientist Hargovind Khurana received the Nobel Prize in medicine in 1968. Born in Punjab, Khurana studied at the renowned MIT Institute of America and settled in the US.

7- Subrahmanyam Chandrasekhar: (Physics)

Dr. Subrahmanyam Chandrasekhar received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1983. He was educated at Presidency College, Chennai. Chandrasekhar later moved to America. He wrote several books on topics related to astronomy and solar system.

8- Venkataraman Ramakrishnan: (Chemistry)

Indian-American scientist Venkataraman Ramakrishnan was awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize in the field of chemistry. Awarded for studies on the structure and function of ribosomes.

9- VS Naipaul: (Literature)

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Indian-origin writer VS Naipaul was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2001. His ancestors arrived in Trinidad as a Girmitiya laborer from Gorakhpur. His novels were of great importance to India.

10- Ronald Ross: (Medicine)

Ronald Ross was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1902 for his discovery of the life cycle of Plasmodium, a medical and malaria parasite. He was born in a village in Almora district of Kumaon, Uttarakhand.

11- Rudyard Kipling: (Literature)

British writer and poet Rudyard Kipling was awarded the Nobel Prize in the field of literature in 1907. He was born in Mumbai.

12- Dalai Lama: (Peace)

The Dalai Lama received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. The Dalai Lama is known worldwide as the Tibetan religious leader. He was born in 1935 in Tibet. He has been living in India for many years.
